What’s the story behind the name?

Pronounced veer-ee-oh. It’s a Latin word that roughly translates to green. We like to think of it as the sprout -- our connection to the soil and the beginning of something beautiful.

How do I use Vireo?

Use like you would any other olive oil. As a dressing, a dip, a cooking oil, or a finishing oil. If your recipe calls for a lot of olive oil, only substitute the amount of Vireo oil you wish to ingest and use a non-cannabis oil for the remainder. Get the feeling that’s right for you, one tablespoon at a time.

How high will I get?

The type and level of high depends on which product you choose. CBD helps you relax without affecting your cognitive abilities, while THC embraces the high typified by recreational cannabis use. The more you take the more you’ll feel these effects.

What’s the best dosage?

We recommend starting with 1 tablespoon, which is 4.5mg of CBD or 3mg of THC. Most cannabis experts recommend a 5mg dose for beginners or people with low tolerance. If you’ve never ingested cannabis before, or if you feel hyper-sensitive to its effects, start with less and see how you feel. It typically takes anywhere from 1-2 hours to feel the full effects when ingesting cannabis, so keep that in mind before taking a second dose.

Can I consume Vireo with alcohol?

We do not recommend consuming alcohol with any THC or CBD products. Be aware that alcohol can increase the effects of THC and CBD in some individuals.

What happens when I heat Vireo olive oil?

Our oil is already decarboxylated, as a result of our infusion process. Which means that the THC is already activated into cannabinol (CBD), which is what gives cannabis products their psychoactive element. So there are no issues caused by heating up/cooking Vireo olive oils.

What is the shelf life of Vireo olive oils?

18 months, assuming it is kept out of direct sunlight and hot environments, like any olive oil.

How reliable are Vireo products? Is your CBD tested?

All Vireo products are lab-tested for purity and potency to ensure proper, consistent dosage.

Are Vireo products organic?

All of our ingredients are USDA-certified organic, except the cannabis flowers. This is only because there is currently no regulation on cannabis that legally enables us to call it organic.

How is Vireo CBD made?

We use full-spectrum hemp-derived CBD.

Hemp is a member of the cannabis sativa family (not the marijuana family), and naturally contains a very low concentration of THC (less than .3%).

CBD is only one of the 100 compounds identified in the cannabis sativa plant. Some brands use CBD isolates, but we believe in using full-spectrum CBD. This is because it includes trace amounts of other cannabinoids, making the CBD more effective. Because we use such a small amount in our oil, most of the other cannabinoids are not detected.

How is Vireo THC made?

We use Marijuana Oil Distillate to create Vireo THC. This is the purest processing method known for extracting and distilling cannabis for oil. Our distillate is made of only cannabinoids, not terpenes.

What is a terpene?

There are over 100 terpenes on the cannabis plant, all there to defend the plant from insects and animals through the production of fragrant terpenes.

Terpenes and their various profiles are what give a plant the distinct smells commonly associated with cannabis. They also create the effects of a sativa high (i.e. alert) and/or an indica high (i.e. relaxation).

Because there are no terpene profiles in distillate, the type of flower we use is irrelevant because the distillate doesn’t carry any of that. Only the Cannabinoid profile matters.
